The better solution is to narrow that ever widening wealth gap, in doing so it also impacts all aspects of social equity & systemic equality Who can feel disenfranchized when there is no lack, nor is there excessive excess?

Many rich know what it is to be poor. Not all of them came from money. And many poor have been in a place of middle class and lost everything. So maybe you should not assume that once poor always poor or always rich.

More people need to experience poor countries like S.E Asia. Only when you see that you are truly blessed to be born in a (currently) solid country, do you have an appreciation for things you take for granted.
