If more of the rich really knew what it meant to be poor in America and more of the poor really knew what it meant to be rich in America, we would have a very different country.

If our tax system did a better job at attenuating vast wealth inequality, we'd have a very different country.

I guess poor people have to show more appreciation & empathy for the struggles & hard work of the rich people to change this country

To be rich, one has to stop thinking poor. That’s a self realization.

But even rich people that grew up poor still are a problem because then they buy into the American dream anybody can make it with hard work Fallacy.... And best case scenario they'll start a non profit and act like they're saving the world

I think the bigger issue is that we have "the American dream" which whole premise is starting out poor... We need to reframe that dream to mean "starting out wealthy and healthy"... While also shifting the word "wealthy" away from meaning "rich" and instead meaning prosperous

#YeahYeah🐦 🇺🇸🗽 I am a Veteran #USMC if the #usa🇺🇸had real Compassion they would have sent 1st the $600Stimulus to those like ME that live BELOW POVERTY line..I still haven't received my $600..Where is it! I want to buy extra food! I did not receive 15% increase in Food Stamps.

This is why we should have k-12 robust public schools with no private schools like they have in Finland. Our intense focus on individualism has allowed us to live in segregated bubbles. Part of a good education is exposure to people all across the economic spectrum.

if the rich really knew what it meant to be poor, they would only fight harder to hold on to their money and power.

There are a lot of rich people who were once poor. They came from nothing. You assume rich people were always rich and it didn't take blood sweat and tears to get there. Shame on you for demonizing work.
