If more of the rich really knew what it meant to be poor in America and more of the poor really knew what it meant to be rich in America, we would have a very different country.

Yes because it would mean rich people actually cared enough to learn what it means to be poor in America. Those aren't the rich people we have

I'm not rich in the least. But I have lived both sides of: "Poor and constantly in debt" and "Poor, but paid well enough to not be in debt". The second one is preferable, but one that most Americans don't ever see. Forget being rich. Most Americans are not even solvent.

You would have to win the current Mega Millions Jackpot ($850 Million) around 250 times to be as rich as Elon Musk, Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos, let that sink in. 馃槨

I don't want to know what it feels like being rich, I heard it causes brain damage.

I don't know, Marianne. Every rich person I know who grew up poor (including my own father) turned into hyperinsecure, money hoarding, classist bastards upon the advent of their material success. It's honestly saddening but it's also true. Empathy is not innate, I'm sorry to say.

I said that just yesterday when a Governor said low interest rates help the poor because they make money on their stocks. What is poor to you! Poor people I know, don鈥檛 own stocks.

Yes. We would have a whole lot of formerly poor people who had become sociopaths.

Capitalism is the issue as is white supremacy and patriarchy
