IIRC, there was once a report finding that public opinion had zero impact on what legislation passed/failed, it was wholly dependent upon special interests and lobbyists. They have read the room. The public just isn't part of that room. It's like when they say "our democracy".

They are actually creating child poverty. Who is going to pay that back?

I was just reading what Heather Cox Richardson wrote about his economic policy. It looks really solid to me. Let’s give him a chance before we tear him apart. He hasn’t even been sworn in yet.
