Cutting child poverty in half means you’re getting half the job done - and that’s not enough. When GOP wanted gargantuan tax cuts for their friends they didn’t take baby steps. Neither should we.

They always say wait, not now, not too much. It's all lies. They're republicans in sheeps clothing.

Plus they don’t even calculate the federal poverty rate properly anyway. Doesn’t account for all sorts of things, including the homeless, and doesn’t account for varying costs of living around the country.

"tax cuts for their friends" I know you're smarter than to believe that decades old bumper sticker. The poor get poorer MW, you know this. Cutting child poverty should be a priority but won't be.

Stop it, please. It is a good start not a baby step. Everything cannot happen on day one, especially when it will take years to fix everything broken.

That's what I said! If it's this easy, they could have done it all along, and why not go all the way. Who DOESN'T want to eradicate child poverty?!

@marwilliamson why are progressives stuck smiling over crumbs when labor movements have such a strong history in our country? It hurts my heart
