No $1,400 is not $2,000, and a one-time payment is not enough. Payments need to be monthly to make a real difference going forward.

And should be retroactive to March 2020. This is not a joke anymore, too many people are homeless, about to be homeless, have no food, and are drowning in debt due to the terrible handling of the pandemic response.

It鈥檚 clearly a symbolic gesture. $2000 a month is what Canadians have been receiving!
Think of that lady sitting in her car crying because she can't give her son the insulin he needs to live. People in other lands have been given thousands and thousands of dollars by their governments to get them through this plague. Ours is a sorry excuse.

$1400 to get last months to 2k is fine as long as it includes additional 2k per month this month and forward.

I really dont think people understand that people's cost of living who are still emploued has also increased. People are worse off if income stays the same and groceries, gas and household items has increased by 10% during the pandemic...do they not deserve help?
