No $1,400 is not $2,000, and a one-time payment is not enough. Payments need to be monthly to make a real difference going forward.

Politicians! say one thing, do another
1. Donald Trump signed the bill with $600. Joe Biden acting like giving people $1,400 is giving them $2,000 because Trump gave them $600, is moronic. 2. Trump gave them $1,800 total. $1,400 is less than that. @JoeBiden would be EMBARRASSED if he remembered how shame feels.

Stop making noise...600+1400 is 2,000. We have bigger issues for your voice and platform. Why not EDUCATE how GOP policies got us here and how the fueled violence will co$t to deploy the NG instead of helping those in need.
Of course, now we see that the promise of a $2000 check left out the part about the $600 being equal to an advance on our allowance

In Ireland the pandemic unemployment payment is 350 a week and one of the reasons this is sustainable is that money goes into the local economy. A one off 1400 payment is pointless.

It’s a start and will help! Me, at least, for a month.

Would be nice, but I don’t think you’ll find a country in world that could afford that. Not with a raging pandemic, millions out of work, nobody paying taxes. Maybe drug dealers, but they can get nasty if you don’t pay them back.

And retroactive to the beginning of the pandemic shutdowns in mid-March 2020. Remember, European countries are paying 80% of peoples' salaries while our government is literally letting people starve and accumulate unpayable debts for rent and other necessities.
