The Telecommunications Act of 1996 allowed a small group corporations to become the monopolistic owners of mainstream media. There are rules by which they abide & one of them is to never criticize the military industrial complex. Most presidential candidates don’t even go near it

One of the fallacies of the "free speech" argument about social media is that "free speech" is not the business model. In fact the "speech" available is censored via algorithms designed to maximize advertisement exposure---the social media version of the editorial board.

It’s a big ask. If the 5 ⭐️ general that helped win WWII can’t curb their power, than who can. The answer is nobody until we get corporate $$ out of politics. We can’t do that without term limits. We have a lot of work to do. Glad to have you on our side!

Not only this, but it gave billions to those companies to build out their infrastructure to make their services utilities, and they did nothing but take that money as profit. Now, we’re 20th in the world despite being heavily focused on tech.

They don’t know how much the change will benefit them too. It is clear now and we must focus on it: the better we do to others, the better it turns for ourselves too. If we want healing, respectful media has a lot to do with it too. Let’s change it to fit “the good for all”
