Defense contractors have such a hold on American military policy that an element of war profiteering is laced into the way we function. We need a movement for peace that is equivalent to the environmental movement. The Right is okay with what is & the Left has basically given up.

We have such a war economy that $.53 of every $ spent is defense related. But money spent on education & infrastructure is actually a more lucrative investment & defense jobs could be re-purposed for peace-related activities. We need to move from a war economy to a peace economy

Why do we have a $760B defense budget while some of our schools don’t even have school supplies & people lack healthcare? In part because we spend hundreds of billions of dollars every year above & beyond what the Pentagon even says it needs. This has nothing to do with security!

After those “lock them up” “IMPEACH” twitter rants, you don’t get to talk about peace...well you can, but it rings hollow...and fake.🤷🏽‍♀️

Paleoconservatives hate the war machine as well

Same w/ pharma. Hospitals exist to market drugs. Healing people is a rare and u fortunate side effect that sometimes sadly deprives big pharma of revenue.

Definitely not going along with the get-along that leaves the public without a grip. If our tax dollars are used for protection we should be more engaged. @warresistersint A #DepartmentOfPeace has been needed for decades.
