Who he was on Wednesday is no different than the man he’s been for the last 5 years. The neo-fascist movement he aroused must be treated with the utmost seriousness now; those who enabled it should have very little say in what that looks like. Their calls for “unity” are hollow.
New details from @maggieNYT on what Trump was doing during the riot: "He was pleased... He knew what was happening... He just didn't want to do anything." Says only thing that snapped him out of it was being told he would face legal exposure based on what he said at the rally.

Republicans are only about the greedy present. They have no sense of posterity. They will forever be known as those who accepted a murderous insurrection b/c the leading insurrectionist seemed to indicate he might be a good boy now.

Of course he didn't care about congressional members being hurt, kidnapped or worse, as long as the results favored him. He hasn't one iota of empathy in his entire bloated body - - he never has and he never will.

Self-preservation ... that's the only thing that got Trump to speak up ... and he still told the rioters that he ... LOVED THEM!
tRump must face the most severe of consequences to insure history does not repeat itself.

Calling for violence, right? How can we watch the same speech and understand it do differently? Confirmation bias. #wwg1wa #biblical nitter.vloup.ch/TheRightMelissa/…

And we should also understand the conditions which created the groundwork for such a neo-fascist movement to rise up. Trump didn't cause it, nor did Alex Jones. People are drawn to these figure because of the conditions created by the system as a whole. Both establishment parties
