I’m astounded that with armed protests planned for all 50 state Capitol’s and then days later at the US Capitol, Republicans are so unable or unwilling to exert pressure on Trump to tell his supporters to stand down. It is mind boggling.

Next they’ll be supporting funds to bail them out of jail. Wouldn’t that be wild?
I cannot figure out what they expect to gain from going down this road. There has to be something in it for them but I don't see how destroying the country is good for anyone.

It's not mind boggling, it's a bipartisan win-win. Republicans get more precedence for increased police funding and militarization, and Democrats maintain a reliable source of terror for fundraising. Our two party system at its finest.

I’m not. #Republicans are showing us who they really are.

Yes, agree. It appears that the Republican party is now the party of Trump. It is mind boggling.

The military needs to put down these treasonous domestic terrorists. What happened to them being law and order party? Impeach this bastard. And then prosecute him. We have authorities to deal with terrorists like this

it's as if Trump has dirt on all of them or has cast a spell over all of them. I've never seen anything like this in my whole 51 years. It's downright weird.

How are you astounded by what happened at the Capitol? Since 2016 we have seen Trump destroy what America is supposed to stand for. It’s the culmination of an obvious plan that has been in the works for at least 40 years. Arming and radicalizing citizens has dire consequences.😡

Group think. Lawmakers are literally afraid of these people and/or are bigots too and agree with them. We’ve got an epidemic of toxic masculinity + racism in this country.
