In 1949 Congress passed the Fairness Doctrine requiring broadcast licensees give "honest, equitable & balanced" coverage of news. Seeking to deregulate all business enterprise, Reagan ended it in 1987. We need to reinstate it & include tech platforms! #ReinstateFairnessDoctrine

You'd expect @WNYC would interview ALL legal candidates on the ballot for the same office equally, but they gave my Big 2 opponents 15 minutes each back to back, me the last 5 seconds, "... also Harry Burger is running with the #GreenParty."

We need to work together as a nation. Find common goals to work towards! For our Nation and its citizens. We cannot continue drawing lines and distancing ourselves from one another. Maybe a solution is requiring Disclaimers under specific listing, shows.

You may wish to clarify for those unfamiliar with the legislation. It was NOT about restricting free speech as much as allowing the public to see two opposing views so they were better informed. All major news outlets should provide equal time for opposing arguments and views.

Years ago, listening to the news was important. There was mutual respect. These days, many of us stoped watching tv and learned to be selective and cautious of who we decide to follow. Yes @marwilliamson @JoeBiden @BernieSanders @KamalaHarris: #ReinstateFairnessDoctrine !!

100% agree. You can see the rapid decline of news from that point on. There should never be an entertainment/propaganda channel masquerading as news.

I don’t see this being a wise strategic direction as it would inflame the sense of suppression of free speech which is widespread and is actually resulting in a very dangerous alt-media universe.

The Telecommunications Act must be rescinded and The Fairness Doctrine must be restored. Legislation (or lack of it) serves the Oligarchy only. The Mainstream Media is utterly corrupt, consequently.
