This isn’t just about Trump. It’s also about an unexplainable lack of serious security at the Capitol on a day when anyone would have known that it was at least conceivably more vulnerable. We’ve known about this rally for weeks & its organizers were open about planning to storm.

They would have had to open fire on all those people to keep them out. I don't want machine guns at my Capitol.

I agree with that. But if there had been a line of riot police standing in front of the capital from early in the morning, the mob would never have even seriously approached the building.

Possibly. Or one of the cops could get trigger happy and we could have real carnage. You have seen what has happened in cities across this country. Rioters overwhelm cops. It's hard to say what would have happened, since Trump egged them on. I'm a Trump guy, but I've seen enough.
