It’s unbelievable watching the Capitol police politely and carefully escorting protesters out of the capitol building. Compare that to how police met protesters with tear gas and violence in Portland and elsewhere.

Due to mismanagement or deliberate actions the police were completely unprepared for this when it began. Now that support has arrived they are becoming more forceful. They are beginning to deploy tear gas.

I got arrested that day and charged with 13 felonies for walking down the street through a blanket conspiracy charge. The MPD spent literal years combing through surveillance tapes to target and charge everyone in that protest.
