There’s no point in having power unless you use it to help those who have none. The unjustly imprisoned, the uneducated and hungry child, the desperate and demonized, the frightened immigrant, the uninsured sick, the traumatized poor, the ravaged earth...let this be their night.

Um, Joe Biden wrote the Crime Bill, helped build the cages that locked up immigrants, and helped administer needless wars and drone bombings. Lemme know how well that helping the unjustly imprisioned, the frightened immigrant and the desperate and demonized thing goes.

That is the duty of every person, no matter their level of power. That people think they can just hand over that responsibility to the state is erroneous. The state has limited responsibilities, and that is so they don't get too much power. The power is properly with the people.
