Every day I get 5+ emails from Dems with a subject line saying the sky is falling in. Would someone please tell whatever messaging genius thinks that’s the way to raise $ that it’s also the best way to depress people, & millions of people seeing such words suppresses possibility?

Fear is VERY profitable.

They use different tactics to see what floats. For me the 'sky is falling' messages turn me off. However for many it spurs them to give. It's the method mega churches use.

Ultimately the Democratic Party has determined fundraising to be the be all end all goal over and above building power or grassroots organizing of any kind

I think they are all just getting everyone worked up because people living in fear are easier to control.

Seriously I get the dumbest text messages. Not hopeful or inspiring at all. Makes me think they are sent out by whiny 20 somethings sometimes. It makes me sad that someone actually worded them that way and thought it was a good idea

I always thought the same damn thing!! I always unsubscribe the minute I see an end of the world title from dems.

I think its less about messaging strategy, and more a reflection of their own fears
