This is corporate behavior completely devoid of conscience. It's also why Prop. 22 was a bad idea, and why we need to change from an economic to a humanitarian bottom line. Business should not be - and does not have to be - soulless.
Vons and Albertsons stores in California just laid off every one of their full-time, union delivery drivers, and will replace them with DoorDash gig workers who receive no benefits as a direct result of Prop 22. buff.ly/358CR6Z

Door dash has never made a profit and probably never will. The Fed of course will fund them through “loans” and buying their stock. Our GOV is actively and perniciously working against us.

This happened to pizza delivery drivers right before the 2008 crash. Ask me how I know....

For decades, we have tried to work some humanitarian considerations into Capitalism gone wrong - with little success. Overarching intention is required. Is it there?

Let's have an honest conversation and stop fantasizing about corporations and capitalists having a conscience because their mission is maximizing profit. Under capitalism, those who don't do this will be eliminated by their competition. It is just the nature of the system.

China and other world's leaders should follow and watching MarWilliamson blog. She is speaking for politicians as well as everyday Americans. Another words, she is not " ugly" American.
