This is corporate behavior completely devoid of conscience. It's also why Prop. 22 was a bad idea, and why we need to change from an economic to a humanitarian bottom line. Business should not be - and does not have to be - soulless.
Vons and Albertsons stores in California just laid off every one of their full-time, union delivery drivers, and will replace them with DoorDash gig workers who receive no benefits as a direct result of Prop 22. buff.ly/358CR6Z

I agree it's a sad story but I've been laid off before and instead of playing the victim, I found a new job like an adult.

The fact that you stand up against injustice doesn't mean you're not an adult. This isn't just about being laid off.

Ah it never ends. I’ve been a teamster for 35 years. This is a well thought out plan. Shall we boycott?

You’re wrong. Corporate behavior has conscience, just not that which you want. It isn’t their job to be nannies. Don’t work for them if you don’t like the conditions, they will change or go out of business.

Capitalism is soulless by design

Californians only seem to care about labor when it comes to union workers. But when other labors get undercut by illegal immigrants, it's just a part of California's necessary economy.

To my neighbors swayed by the deceptive adds on prop 22-congrats. You just expanded the wealth gap. Instead of blaming the bleeding hearts on the "left" for the rise of homelessness & panhandling consider the anti-labor movement of the right that's decimated the middle class.

An obvious direct result of the legislation. What did the legislature think would br the effect of the law? Are they shocked? Yes/No

Is that the same corporation as Safeway?
