When I was growing up, everyone had a house - like, a whole house - and hardly anyone had any 'money' - how were things so different, then? 40 years is not all that long, in the scheme of things - we can change things back - including a good educational system, too #FreeThinking
1/ The reason extreme income inequality is so viscerally repulsive to me is because I’m old enough to remember the time - before 1980 - when it wasn’t this way. It all started with the Reagan tax cuts and Reaganomics in 1980.

Yes! In 1970 workers had good union jobs, good benefits in addition to a substantial paycheck, home and car ownership plus annual vacations. They could send their kids to college and even own a small summer home. They were the middle class in America. (source: Thom Hartmann)
