1/ The reason extreme income inequality is so viscerally repulsive to me is because I’m old enough to remember the time - before 1980 - when it wasn’t this way. It all started with the Reagan tax cuts and Reaganomics in 1980.

2/ Example: Walmart corporation made $16.4B in profits in 2011 yet pays its employees minimum wage. The family has $100B, more than bottom 40% of all Americans. Unjust economic policies made this possible, and no one no one no one should be okay with it. #TaxTheRich

If you’re really concerned about wealth inequality, I suggest you look into the private equity investments & firms with whom public ee pension funds partner. Public $ has created dozens of billionaires & destroyed businesses/jobs for average Americans in the process.

You’re looking in the wrong places. CALPERS is the largest public ee pension fund in the US. It has increased its allocation to private equity, increasing wealth transfers to billionaires in pursuit of greater returns. Leaving leveraged/destroyed businesses & unemployed in wake.

This is economically incorrect. This assumes economic growth and wealth creation is a zero sum game. It’s not.

The last time the tax rate on the rich was this low, was right before the great depression. History constantly predicts future tragedy.

It’s much more complicated then “tax the rich”. We need to keep corporations and factories here in America. We need to honor Jesus and evangelize our nation under God. Churches and charities through donations have historically taken care of the poor.

lets turn this into a math text book question. walton family has 100B dollar. walmart has 2M employees. a random philantrop (lets call him Robyn Hutt) "convinces" the walton family to distribute their wealth evenly among all employees. how much does each employee get? (A: 50000$)

Unjust economic policies lead to poverty, violence, illness, etc.
