1/ The reason extreme income inequality is so viscerally repulsive to me is because I’m old enough to remember the time - before 1980 - when it wasn’t this way. It all started with the Reagan tax cuts and Reaganomics in 1980.

No if you want to help people you abolish minimum wage no raise it. Have you even look at the unemployment statistics between countries with minimum wage and ones without in the EU. Econ 101

$15/hr minimum federal wage, up from there in other regions. All employers need to step up, especially the Walmart’s of stores. Offer flexibility; full time work, many employees are not scheduled 40 hrs, others need less hours than scheduled, flexibility with time needed off.

The inequality started a little earlier than that, and did not fall when we had changing taxes. So I don't think that is the whole story. I think inequality is caused by trade capital flight, and the more demanding educational requirements for computer science.

Marianne, I’m as old as you & you’re being misleading. Regardless & more importantly, Walmart does 265 million cash register transactions weekly. The stock is owned by EVERY MAJOR PUBLIC employee PENSION Fund in the US including CALPERS & CALSTRS. Both ways to chg ee comp.
