1/ The reason extreme income inequality is so viscerally repulsive to me is because I’m old enough to remember the time - before 1980 - when it wasn’t this way. It all started with the Reagan tax cuts and Reaganomics in 1980.

I'm 77. Grew up in a family knowing that big business controlled our government - period. I do agree that the balance of earnings to cost of items was more equitable before l980. (i am earning almost the same $ now as in l980, my mortgage was 236., rent now 1250 & that's cheap
