1/ The reason extreme income inequality is so viscerally repulsive to me is because I’m old enough to remember the time - before 1980 - when it wasn’t this way. It all started with the Reagan tax cuts and Reaganomics in 1980.

2/ Example: Walmart corporation made $16.4B in profits in 2011 yet pays its employees minimum wage. The family has $100B, more than bottom 40% of all Americans. Unjust economic policies made this possible, and no one no one no one should be okay with it. #TaxTheRich

This all boils down to one thing: GREED! 1. Real estate markets drive out affordable housing. 2. Greedy corporations send our jobs overseas for cheap labor. 3. Others cut hours & pay minimum wage. 4. Govt owned by all of the above so nothing changes.

I'm 51, and even I remember the Reagan years. I was a little girl when he was first elected. I remember my mom's reaction when Reagan deemed Ketchup as a vegetable for school lunch. I watched as school had tons of supplies to teachers having to beg for donations for books.

Dont forget the lax environemtal regulations, the slack land us laws, the ability to dominate a local community, or the people driven from their homes by the industrial pollution that kill their way of life. They paid for the Walton gangs riches. They paid, homes, health, lives.
Sooo...the Walton family making billions isn’t covetous?
