1/ The new congressional session begins today. Re-electing Pelosi will say to the country that it’s pretty much going to be business as usual, which to me is very sad. What a lost opportunity to burst out of the gate post-Trump with something new.

2/ New member progressive @MondaireJones on his plan to back Pelosi: “The question is: “Are you going to empower the Republican leader, Kevin McCarthy, to which the answer is no.” Wow, they get to them fast don’t they? A line straight from a PR ad campaign if there ever was one.

His argument suffers from a math problem. The Republicans are in the minority.
There I disagree. Of course with a credible challenger like AOC it could have put Pelosi supporters on the horns of the same dilemma. Though asking establishment Dems to choose between a progressive and a Republican has a pretty safe answer. Republican every time.
You’re an idiot, this isn’t a game, our democracy has been crushed, and you want what you want and screw everything else, don’t we all, but SOME of us are grownups...you need to grow tf up, reality ain’t pretty, we have a long ditch to climb out of and you’re not helpful.
All I’ve heard from you is that you wanted Pelosi replaced but did not hear of any viable candidate. Who exactly were you hoping would replace her? Do you even have enough votes? There was no plan, only that you didn’t want Pelosi.
Can you even math? "They get to them fast." Fear mongering. So they got to YOU.
McCarthy becoming speaker is literally impossible
You know what’s better than dumb new? Smart Old.
Business as usual is 2k checks and DC statehood I guess

"If all 435 Representatives-elect vote for a particular person, the majority would be 218. For each person who answers present or otherwise does not vote, the threshold to win a majority decreases."
