1/ The new congressional session begins today. Re-electing Pelosi will say to the country that it’s pretty much going to be business as usual, which to me is very sad. What a lost opportunity to burst out of the gate post-Trump with something new.

2/ New member progressive @MondaireJones on his plan to back Pelosi: “The question is: “Are you going to empower the Republican leader, Kevin McCarthy, to which the answer is no.” Wow, they get to them fast don’t they? A line straight from a PR ad campaign if there ever was one.

Oh great, more of this “any criticism of Democratic policy or process is support for Trump” nonsense...

I think there's other who already aren't likely to vote for Pelosi. Some of the blue dog types. I wonder if that might have an negative effect on the progressive effort to force the vote 🤔

Let’s hope. It’s not a done deal yet.

This is hostile to reasonable discourse. There was no organizing behind an alternative Democrat to Pelosi. No Democrat House member chose to run, no House members organized support behind another Democrat, and you, Marianne, did not organize support behind another Dem candidate.

How does he not know that a No vote for Pelosi sends the Speaker vote back to caucus and other Dems can run? I mean, for $174K a year, shouldn't he be smarter than me about the way voting in the House works?

Who do you think should replace her? Spouting off without this holds little water.

This needs to be said. If progressives want to take over, supporters, leaders, and media should be pounding the strategy to win by encouraging local, state, federal races each year until we gain leverage to win at the top! 2021 Filing periods are here! Follow @lbcrats 🔥

Pathetic. This is racist, straight up.

Replying to @marwilliamson
@MondaireJones that is factually inaccurate. If Pelosi doesn’t get enough votes then some else like Jeffries will be nominated and voted on. McCarthy would not in fact become speaker. McCarthy will never get to 218 votes. I expected better from my newly elected “progressive” rep
