1/ The new congressional session begins today. Re-electing Pelosi will say to the country that it’s pretty much going to be business as usual, which to me is very sad. What a lost opportunity to burst out of the gate post-Trump with something new.

2/ New member progressive @MondaireJones on his plan to back Pelosi: “The question is: “Are you going to empower the Republican leader, Kevin McCarthy, to which the answer is no.” Wow, they get to them fast don’t they? A line straight from a PR ad campaign if there ever was one.

You can keep saying it, but no one is running against her. Can they ALL be in the pockets of the corporate bosses??

That ship begin sailing with Bill Clinton, and it will sink with Biden.

Did you not notice the effort the Dems put in to .make sure exactly that does not happen? Back from the fire to the frying pan for the serfs. "Nothing will fundamentally change" ring a bell?

Why is Pelosi still around? Criminy, she's 80 years old and still hanging around D.C. Is she building her resume for when she's 100?

I partly disagree. Pelosi being Speaker does show that failure of the establishment is only rewarded. However, let those in leadership take full blame for the failure of neoliberalism. Leadership often hides behind the GOP, now now more, let them be on full display.

Nothing will fundamentally change, indeed. Just extremely disappointed that it’s the progressive philosophy now and not just Biden’s.

@marwilliamson Apologies for using your thread to go off on Mondaire. I’m just so infuriatingly frustrated. Thank you for your patience.

Trump wasn't even a big enough wake up call for these people who in 4 years are gonna be shocked face all over again when competent Trump 2.0 is elected.
