1/ The new congressional session begins today. Re-electing Pelosi will say to the country that it’s pretty much going to be business as usual, which to me is very sad. What a lost opportunity to burst out of the gate post-Trump with something new.

2/ New member progressive @MondaireJones on his plan to back Pelosi: “The question is: “Are you going to empower the Republican leader, Kevin McCarthy, to which the answer is no.” Wow, they get to them fast don’t they? A line straight from a PR ad campaign if there ever was one.

Can you all lay off for at least a month. We have to get rid of these vermin first. God. Our country is ready to become fascist 101. Give it a break please. It may not be perfect but it can’t be changed fvcking now of all times. Sick of it.

I’m sorry, and god bless our senior brothers and sisters, but she’s 80 and we don’t have a viable replacement according to these defenders? I heard all I needed to hear.

Nancy Pelosi is a tried and true leader for the Democrats. Switching now would be detrimental to Biden's success.

Pelosi isn't the biggest obstacle to progress, but she is the FIRST obstacle to progress. No one can vote to re-re-elect the worst, most corrupt Dem House Speaker ever and still call themselves a progressive.

With Biden as president I think "business as usual" is the goal. "Return to normalcy" aka mediocrity, managed decline and bigger bureaucracy. Also wars. Looking forward to destroying some more countries so we can bring them "democracy".

To the extent he ran on anything, he ran on the slogan, "nothing will change." We'll just get rid of the Orange Man and have Sunday brunch and nap in peace. But there is a good chance both parties will completely implode under the stress of their internal contradictions.

Replacing Pelosi would be an unnecessary risk with an uncertain outcome. It won’t strengthen Dems position.
