What is a centrist at this point if not someone looking at a burning house and thinking that a garden hose might do the job?

No, to me that’s just an intelligent American. Eisenhower said “the American mind at its best is both conservative and liberal” and I agree with that. But centrists these days tend to water down the best ideas of both.

You’re describing a fictional world where progressive politicians are not routinely suppressed by a political machine.

A centrist would hold the home owner, watch it burn while spewing meaningless platitudes about “standing together” etc Then pass regs so banks can “help” fire victims keep their house - but it would really be a delaying tactic so foreclosure happens when the cameras are off.

What the House progressive caucus thinks it’s armed with vs what it actually is armed with to put out the fire #ForceTheVote

We shouldn't try forcing the fire out, real progress with putting out the fire will come in small increments over 50 years.

Centrism=Corporate donors, procedural maximizism, and a belief in nothing.

as long as neo-con/neo-lib esentially the left and right of a single pro-corporate party, straddle both parties we will have a government that serves corporations not people- get money out of politics

You believe that they care about whether the house is burning?
