Neither major political party is an adequate container for energies seeking to emerge now. Corrupted by corporate money’s control, neither sets an agenda for a seriously sustainable future. Their chokehold on our political system diminishes our prospects for a survivable century.

Both parties hv to take Corporate Money because our campaign finance laws are weak and nonexistent. The main differences in the Parties: Republicans make voting hard and obstruct, Democrats want everyone to vote and are trying to solve problems in our society. Rs are not helping.

One party is a nationalist party that is in favor of authoritarianism versus democracy. I think the problem you describe is real, but it has shifted from corporatism to fascism. There is a bigger problem right now: the GOP is a fascist party.

Political parties in the US aggregate interests and compel voters to make broad choices. Until a better aggregator comes along, the current two will continue to exist.

I agree. We don’t have to tear down the entire system to fix it though. Pass some strict laws around $ in politics, make it illegal to accept foreign interest $ *at all* & reinstate Glass-Steagall to protect people from predatory banking practices & that would fix most of it.
