Everything "those" people do is disturbing. It will be interesting to see if the Georgia run-off results will have any effect. What should normally be pro forma is threatening to be another Trump cluster-f@#%.
This is simply a cynical political calculation by Hawley to consolidate the Trump base for his own run in 2024. He sees an opening to be the next Republican populist and he is going to exploit it no matter how much damage he causes.

But in reading the article, couldn't this also be bad for some of the GOP -- it implies putting McConnell and others in a position where they have to be on record supporting or rejecting the issue?
