Now even Perdue and Loeffler are supporting the $2000 stimulus because they see it’s what voters want. If the Democratic Party had stood loud and proud for it starting in March, Democrats would easily be controlling both House and Senate today.

My guess is that the purported GOP "supporters" of the $2k are trying to be opportunistic. Mitch is being the scapegoat since he's newly re-elected, and guys like the GA crew and Marco Rubio can safely advocate for it knowing Mitch will block.

Speaker Pelosi would never have allowed passage before the election. She intentionally put poison pills in her “Heroes Act” assuring Senate failure. Motivations of long term politicians rarely include the wellbeing of the American people.

Very true we need a bill that supports $2,000 (retroactive) payments. Other countries already have this, the first bill gave billions to the rich and corporations that didn’t need it and the PEOPLE need (and have needed) the most help now!
