No they did not. The HEROES Act included a proposal for a second round of direct payments to Americans – $1,200 for an individual, $2,400 for joint filers, and $1,200 for up to three dependents.

But that’s my point!! Progressives like Ro Khanna and Tim Ryan were asking for the $2000 a month from the beginning, but those proposals were squashed by leadership. And what the Speaker says is what Americans hear.

I’m not saying that YOU do. But I don’t understand why you’re saying this “isn’t the best way forward.” Don’t we just have to tell the truth as we see it at some point? I don’t see where coddling one’s Congressional leadership is somehow a “better strategy.” This is a democracy!

I actually think Marianne is far better at politics than Yang. I love Andrew, but when Marianne speaks, she doesn't hold anything back. I'm tired of politicians who hold back their true feelings and don't think it benefits any of us when they don't go for the brass ring.

I'd disagree on this as well. Williamson should get far more credit for her work as a speaker, bestselling author and entrepreneur, but the establishment only seems to highlight those qualities when it comes to men.
Yeah I can't settle for less than complete authenticity these days. And why should we when Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman and Adam Christensen are out there laying it down? You can't create a different politics by perpetuating a disingenuous culture that is more of the same.
