So what's the plan? Ignore anything he says?

.@BarackObama gave brilliant speeches too, but... he also drone bombed families, built the cages on the border that Trump put kids in, acquiesced to anything Wall Street wanted... He delivered a bunch of hope with no real change. Speeches matter yes, but actions matter more.

It's true that within a year of his becoming president, I thought "Yada yada yada" almost every time Obama opened his mouth. But this is different. It's the beginning of a very important transition and knowing where Biden's head is at matters. He's talking about important things.

You're fooling yourself, Marianne. You want to believe better things are possible with Biden, but he's part of the reason we're here.

His track record and cabinet tells us pretty much everything. His words will be even emptier than Obama’s or Trumps.
Important things we need (coronavirus aside) includes bringing our troops home, renewing our infrastructure since it’s crumbling hard, ending private prisons, and a revamp of the broken foster care and mental health systems Whatever Biden’s talking about, it’s surely not that

I think most people paying attention would argue Obama felt different and Joe feels like instant disappointment.
We must have been watching two different versions.
I agree that we should listen to his words, but we also have 5 decades of his public policy record to gauge them against. The actions speak louder than the words. His actions have ber war hawkish, economically neoliberal, and wildly damaging to minorities and the poor.
