All this talk “But who would replace her” seems ridiculous. If Nancy resigned, I have no doubt people would step up to run for the position.

Nancy is not our problem. The focus now is on winning these 2 Georgia Senate seats and getting through the next month of Trump.

She got 44 Republicans to vote for $2000 checks today, and has MM checkmated. Who did you have in mind that can do the same or better?

Sure you could always get people to step up but that doesn't mean they would be as effective as she is and has been.

how about AOC? she has a pretty face and advocates for socialist extremism? but she says she's not ready. I'm sure one of the other squad members like Tlaib or Omar will do just fine as party leadership. socialism, not America, is what you all stand for now anyways.

They'd try, but I suspect the fear is that somebody like Hakeem Jeffries would win in a landslide, and that there'd be no material hope of replacing him in the next two decades. And Jeffries might be not merely no improvement, but worse than Pelosi, from our point of view.

Barbara Lee (@BLeeForCongress) should replace @SpeakerPelosi. She's an experienced Rep who's a whip & former chair of the Black & Progressive Caucuses. She has the experience and policies we need in a new speaker. It's time to elect the first black woman as Speaker of the House.

Yes, people would step up, but progressives are in the minority, and we'd get someone even more conservative.

When people ask that question they don’t literally mean that there isn’t someone physically capable of doing the job. What they mean is how can you guarantee the one replacing her won’t be as bad or worse.
