Thank you Marianne for this! Yes time for progressive Democrats to use their power. Like Jimmy Dore said no excuses. The progressives must stand up for the American people. No more talk time to take action. Martin Luther King said you got to take action for change to happen.
That's the genius of this. Pelosi does NOT have to be ousted for it to have worked, nor does M4A have to pass. It's an ID check. Show your credentials at the door. "We're not going to serve you drinks all night only to find out later you're only 17 and shouldn't even be in here."
Urgency is the OPPOSITE of what we need. What is missing is a clear plan of who is ready to replace her. What we need is to have some candidates work closely with her to get up to speed, show what they can do, and be ready so a solid choice can be made. Not a popularity contest.

They’re all intelligent and obviously very capable so I can only assume they have some idea what they’re doing, but given that they have it in their power to take out Pelosi and Jeffries idk why they wouldn’t

hmm. replace Pelosi with who? no progressives have shown a willingness to challenge her. most likely replacement would be one of Pelosi's acolytes. it'd be disastrous if all that happens is a new face gets slapped onto the Pelosi agenda

As pointed out earlier in the discussion, the Speaker can be any named person. It doesnt even have to be a member if Congress. So, when people say "someone worse" will become speaker, they are assigning a constant where a variable belongs. It could literally be any US Citizen.
