yes and they are routinely voted into office by people whose interests they dont represent because of the brutal efficacy of the mainstream media (corporations) that pits us against one another so we’re not powerful enough to force real change
Not every rich person is a greedy bastard and not every poor person is noble and pure. Ironically, a system that makes it easier for the rich and harder for the poor is routinely voted into office by those who have very little as much as by those who have a lot.

I agree. Plus the unlimited amount of money Citizens United allows to flood the system with false advertising.
