the rich are the problem and they want to keep us othering each other individually by identity and cultural differences so we never become truly powerful

Not every rich person is a greedy bastard and not every poor person is noble and pure. Ironically, a system that makes it easier for the rich and harder for the poor is routinely voted into office by those who have very little as much as by those who have a lot.

That is a pretty grotesque, abhorrent simplification of things. What do you think is easier, getting a million people that line up with you in terms of socioeconomics to push in the same direction on an issue, or being one rich person and buying outcomes?

Not all rich people

This is a painfully liberal framing (or obfuscation) of class dynamics

Nah. Every rich person is in fact, a greedy bastard. If they weren't, they wouldn't be rich. The rich control every narrative in the country and could end homelessness in a second but they choose to live in their mansions while posting images on Instagram on how much they care.

I adore Marianne, but the rich are absolutely more dedicated to class solidarity than the poor. They operate primarily to further their own interests and with more success than other groups. And genuinely poor people are most routinely left out of voting.

That's because the rich pick the candidates. See Boss Tweed's famous quote about elections
