Even before the pandemic the collective societal neglect of America’s children was creating a time bomb waiting to go off. The economic hardship created by the pandemic has multiplied the problem exponentially.

Add in the isolation due to adults not getting remote socialization and over limiting social screen time at a time development is dependent on peer interaction and there's a national shortage of child/teen psychologists and residential mental health treatment spots.
