The worst tragedy isn’t just their denying the $2k one-time stimulus: even that was little more than the thinnest lifeline for so many at this point. In a sane country it would be $2k every month retroactively to when the pandemic started, plus $2k/mo. going forward until it ends

Or we can all just go back to work.

1/4 million+ Americans spent their lives paying in to their retirement and won't be getting that money back. The gov't wants to keep it. The money they've saved this year from issuing monthly SS checks is astronomical.

But America is the sanest country out there!

Harris, Markey, and Sanders tried that exact solution 7 months ago. Hopefully their bill can be brought back with a Democratic Senate in January.

The Senate already plans to kill the 2k bill Monday. Then what? Even if a person has no compassion for others, as is sadly common, millions of people being hungry and homeless is ultimately very bad for ALL of us. I don't think the DC scum understand what they're unleashing here.

Worst tragedy is marshal law in effect since last Feb. It was phony from Day 1. C19 survival rate is 99.8. Lockdowns produced more suicides, violence, addiction, mental crises, not to mention evictions by the millions to live on the streets amidst the filthiest of environments.
