On the day that celebrates the birth of Jesus, in a country that is primarily Christian and with a Congress made up primarily of Christians, our government is guided by principles as far from “Love one another” as it is possible to get.

Congress is not about Christianity but about greed. They know that. They will never admit, but they know.

“Christianity” has long had little in common with the teaching of Jesus. It’s an organized repressive power structure, at best.
The notion that Jesus never existed, from the point of view of history, is absolute rubbish. And the scenario you suggest for explaining Christianity is even more ridiculous. I mean, where did this clever construction begin? Upon what was it based? Who engineered it?

Why would there be evidence during his lifetime; he wasn't famous during his lifetime. Further, the Gospels themselves are evidence if you understand that there were not religious texts at the time they were recorded.

The myth of Jesus has not occurred many times; similar myths exists, and Jesus fits into that general framework, which was partly achieved when the Bible was assembled according to Council of Nicaea, placing Jesus more firmly in the European mythos.
