I don't care how beloved a celebrity is (and I have vast reserves of goodwill for both those named here), nothing tanks my opinion of someone faster than attacking Jen for standing up for science.
The power of spiritual platitudes cannot be overestimated. Here @marwilliamson has captured two celebrities w/enormous megaphones—@BetteMidler and @janemarielynch—who are attacking @DrJenGunter for pointing out the truth: platitudes can be dangerous.

If my faves could take a break from beclowning themselves, that would be just swell. There have already been enough of them this year, thanks all the same.

And for the record, Marianne Williamson was the one person who "ran" for the Democratic nomination all those many moons ago who I legitimately did not think I would be able to force myself to vote for.

Sad that you missed the opportunity to support the cofounder of the @peacealliance and the founder of @ProjAngelFood, which has fed 13 million meals to those who were too sick to shop or cook for themselves, but I do hope you'll spread the word about the good work they're doing.

Glad she's done some good things. She's also done a whole bunch of terrible ones, including stigmatizing treatment of mental health disorders by non-psychiatrists like me when there is incredible need, so you can take your attempt to make me feel bad and keep right on walking.

No I did not do “a whole bunch of terrible ones, including stigmatizing treatment of mental health disorders by non-psychiatrists like me when there is incredible need.”

I actually do not apologize for pointing out that they are overprescribed. Many people know it and more and more voices, even within the medical field, are beginning to say it

Yeah. Why apologize for that? Who would that apology even go to? A person or a drug manufacturer?
I also believe they are over prescribed. Do you actually apologize for calling clinical depression “a scam” or do you still think it was just wrong to say?
They’re underprescribed, ma’am.
