No, they are not significant and surely she knows that. The majority of people who serve in the US Congress - including her - spend that much on a holiday night out to dinner with the kids and grandkids.
Speaker Pelosi on $600 direct payment checks: "I would like them to have been bigger, but they are significant."

Exactly. She knows. And she’s being grimy and pretending. Decent people need to stop making excuses for them and pretending they just don’t get it. They get it. They understand. They just don’t care because they are evil.

It’s not that they are evil. It’s that they are removed. They are inside a bubble. And by our silence, we enable their dissociation.

Yes, $600 isn't enough, but to blame Pelosi isn't fair. How many bills has the House passed only to get to McConnell & go nowhere; it's over 500.

I call baloney. These are the most powerful people on the planet who have access to all the information they can eat. They *know* and don't care. That's evil. Stop trying to heal them with kind words. They laugh at your civility.

No Marianne. Not only are we NOT silent, just a month ago we re-elected the super majority of Congress. What we really told them is - ‘Yeah, we know we don’t care about us. But go ahead and keep doing that while we pay you $175k a year. ‘.

She’s not removed. It seems as though a great deal of Americans somehow agree with this idea (perpetuated by you on this medium) that the speaker acts with impunity. You false equivalency in this instance is not a fair description of what actually happened here.

If that’s true, that they are in a bubble, then they all should not be in public service. They all should be forced out. Install real representation that reflects the needs of the people. IMO they are willing participants, greedy, corrupt, thus evil.

No, Nancy Pelosi is definitely evil.

That kind of thinking & excuse making is the problem. They aren’t removed. They are just bad people. And we’re not silent, but making excuses for them is sort of like telling us to be quiet. How long until you see them for what the are? They are enemies of the citizenry.

Imagine if there was an American president that spent their time on Twitter answering replies like @marwilliamson does, instead of trolling on it like Trump. That remark about Klobuchar was funny though.
