No, they are not significant and surely she knows that. The majority of people who serve in the US Congress - including her - spend that much on a holiday night out to dinner with the kids and grandkids.
Speaker Pelosi on $600 direct payment checks: "I would like them to have been bigger, but they are significant."

@SpeakerPelosi. The $600 is not significant at all! It's a one time check, how far do you think it will go Nancy!

The checks should have been monthly, they are about 1/5 of what they should be in the US (and monthly) and Pelosi personally stopped a better deal during the election campaign out of ambition.

What.A.Mess 👎🏼 they are trying to offend us, or completely out of touch...or maybe both. We are learning so much about who they truly are

It's voters fault who vote for same politicians over and over. Misinformed & ill-informed voters make the bulk of voter base. This is the biggest draw back of democracy. People simply vote on name recognition and make everyone suffer.

She spent a lot more than that on the famous red Max Mara coat. I don’t care that she has nice things, but she then has the audacity to call 600 dollars “significant.” What an insult. I’d have more respect for her if she just admitted what a disgrace it is.

Yes! This! Hell yes. And while we’re at it, just like you have everyday working class people running the country in our everyday jobs, it should be that everyday working class people should be the overwhelming majority in Congress.

@SpeakerPelosi how can you stand there and say $600 (down from $1200) is significant? How can you stand there and say that?

These people in Congress are totally out of touch with actual Americans. $600 is better than nothing, but when all Congress can spare the American people is $1800 over the year while most countries sent more than that a month to their citizens. This is pathetic and sad.
