This is how governments operate who even begin to serve their people. Ours no longer even pretends....
Pandemic relief by country (up to % of wages): Japan: 100% of wages Netherlands: 90% Norway: 90% Germany: 87% France: 84% Italy: 80% UK: 80% Canada: 75% ... America: 0%

They use to at least pretend they served the people but now they don't even bother to do that.

Marianne, I keep thinking: The Constitution limits Representation in the US House to 1 Representative for each 30,000 people. But the current reality is closer to 1 Representative for every _700k_ people. Could the US Government's apathy be a side effect of under-representation?

We got $600 every week throughout lockdown in NZ - being paid to stay home was the key. Tell people the facts, make it as easy as possible to adapt to the facts, and let people get creative. It was easy to apply for and quickly paid out. We are NOT the wealthiest country on Earth

3 million people have had nothing and/or £79 per week UC for 9 months and counting. Many will lose their homes in 2021. It is a disgrace. Stay safe for the included not the excluded!
Predatory capitalism will be the death of America.

What is the difference, at the core? Is it structural (eg, our military spend)? Is it cultural (gov’t believes in supporting big capital as first priority)? This difference b/n US & others really confuses me.
