Why is Marianne Williamson trending? She is a two bit, grifter whose books are an atrocity. She apparently met Jesus at a party. Not an analogy, she says she shook his hand. I read her books so you don’t have to!

Ugh. I remember.
I read Marianne Williamson’s book on depression. It is horrific. Her premise is you are just super sad and maybe you need to lose everything to get to the place where you can accept God’s love. Also, she claims psychiatrists referred people to her.

You get your information from a tweet like that, do you? You didn't read the book - you read a lying tweet, and you're buying it. But you're the sophisticated professional here, right?

“Sickness is an illusion/does not actually exist.” “How many public personalities on antidepressants have to hang themselves before the FDA does something, Big Pharma cops to what it knows, and the average person stops falling for this?” Isn’t that you? google.ca/amp/s/time.com/564…

That line is misleading taken out of context. I teach metaphysical subjects: Buddha said the world is an illusion. "Time and space are illusions of consciousness." - Einstein. It doesn't mean you're not sick and you don't go to the doctor! I have never said anything like that.

If you said you met Jesus at a party and shook his hand. Then that is all I need to know, to give you and your books a wide birth!

“Sickness is an illusion/does not actually exist.” Those are words, in English. They have meaning, standing on their own, just like that. If you're not retracting them, you need to sit down, because those are dangerous, harmful words.

“Time and space are illusions of consciousness” does not imply what you hope it would though. Einstein means that it’s the distinction of the 2 that is the illusion. Not that there is anything “metaphysical” above or behind it all.

Einstein never said this & you can't get "Time & space are illusions of consciousness" from what he actually wrote, which was intended to be a poetic note of comfort. Time & space are certainly not illusions, metaphysical or otherwise. They're well-defined physical concepts.
