MSM is like a strange drug that keeps us more upset than we need to be about some things, but not as upset as we should be about other things. It curates the news in such a way to keep people always on edge about what’s happening but never empowered enough to do anything about it

it's a far cry from Walter Cronkite, who just said "and that's the way it is"

Poverty is a policy choice MSM gaslights the American people with news of a soaring stock market, while fear mongering over National Debt To project an image of shared prosperity, while delivering crippling austerity All to maintain a rigged status quo

Here's another thing about MSM: influence. Between NV Caucus and SC primary, when Bernie Sanders was ahead by 12% in national polls, he received 72% negative coverage. In comparison Biden received 63% positive coverage over the same period.

Media is designed to be addicting. Ted Turner realized how much people liked watching "the news" and created the addicting 24 hour news cycle in CNN. That was the the inspiration for Jerry Mander to write "Kill Your Televisions." You will feel better if you stop watching the MSM.

Basically, mainstream media panders to centrists. I occasionally watch CNN for their point of view, but it hates progressives. The only news I watch religiously is tyt. It inspires me to fight for what this country deserves. It deserves a hell of a lot better than what we have.

Perhaps empowerment is the job of the Democratic Party ... The Republicans have been empowering their base for years ... preparing young lawyers for judgeships ... preparing young people to run for office ... The Democrats have started ... and they need to keep it up.
At this point it’s so blatantly ridiculous I don’t see hair anyone can watch it. Millions trying desperately to survive but their “expert”...”no need to give ppl money, they’d just save it” Clearly serving the 1%, as do our pol

When I lived in Russia in the early 1990s I asked about Pravda & propaganda. The Russians just laughed and said that Americans had not yet figured out that ALL news is propaganda. They were not wrong. The profit motive creates incentives for bad behavior

You tweet of MSM like it’s one thing or one small group of people. And it’s absolutely not. It’s a wildly diverse group and as such it doesn’t exist.
