It is socialism.We currently have corporate socialism which is worse than populist socialism.But at the end of the day people don’t want to be dependent on govt.,family, friends,neighbors?Sure, we need each other. But those who seek power in centralized places are usually selfish

The fact the fire dept will come to my house if there’s a fire doesn’t mean I’m “dependent on govt.” Giving all of our money away in tax cuts & subsidies to huge corporations in the name of “not wanting to be dependent on govt” is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of.

I agree, you’re paying for those services. I also agree the corporate backstopping & bailouts needs to stop. Point I’m making is people often vote against socialism bc they want freedom of opportunity more than govt. programs like free college. Taxes are compulsory not voluntary
