😢By embracing capital punishment, we actually collectively condone the killing off of the worst parts of ourselves. We can't even bear to look at our darkness, so we try to do away with it. Instead of finding ways to collectively heal, we chose the ultimate, soulless punishment.

I’ve studied the lives of some of our nation’s most depraved serial killers too much to support a total abolishment of the death penalty. While I do think it should be used less often, I also believe some people’s heinous actions render them deserving of death.
