I think it was just another excuse to blame Russia again for something. No evidence, no way of proving anything. Just another scud missile of US intel propaganda launched at Russia. Keep the Russophobia percolating to ensure more military spending.

What I think is that Russiagate was a media hyped conspiracy theory and this is just more of the same.

We have a major traitor in the White House, so this sounds about right on time.
