The thing that made Berlin in 1935 Berlin in 1935 was the role the state played in enabling and encouraging the violence. Not every street fight is the Nazis, even when it's horrible, and I think it's alarmist and irresponsible to suggest it. Still love you, Rabbi @marwilliamson!

I think it’s neither alarmist nor irresponsible. It was in fact a state actor – no less than the President of the U.S. – who initiated and perpetuates this malevolent trend. This was not just a “street fight;” it was a marauding gang of thugs. Thus my reference to Berlin in 1935.

BLM and antifa were not unleashed by the DNC. I denounce violence wherever it occurs, but I do not see BLM as a violent organization and Antifa is not an organized group.
